Miena has always loved flowers. Growing up it was her dream to one day own a flower shop and share her floral designs with the world, but as a hopeless romantic, the wedding industry and her love for love, lead her to becoming a wedding florist. Determined to provide people with designs that valued aesthetics and quality, with a focus on complementary colors, tones, and hues that were well thought out, Miena launched Petals on Stems.
Miena is all about family and couldn’t be closer to hers. When she is not working on floral creations, she is spending quality time with her family and friends. Miena is married to her entrepreneur husband Chris, and is the bonus mom to their two beautiful daughters Lucy and Alessa. Miena’s loves are family and flowers. She handles both with the utmost love and care.
I am used to handling every detail of floral design, so it was one of the more difficult tasks of wedding planning to find my floral vendor and relinquish control, trusting another florist to bring my vision to life exactly as I imagined. I did find my perfect florist, who was willing to listen to every detail of what I envisioned - and I fell in love with my bridal bouquet the moment I saw it! I went with white orchids and ranunculus tied in a loose, bouncy fashion - and an orchid boutonniere for my husband, Chris!
As a florist, one of the most common questions I get asked is "whats your favorite flower?" My personal favorites are white ranunculus. I love the delicate, lush, and elegant look. The petals are thin, silky, and arranged in tight, intricate whorls that gradually blossom. I also love using them in a wide range of colors—including soft pastels like blush, peach, and buttercream, as well as vibrant hues like crimson, tangerine, and fuchsia—ranunculus flowers add elegance and romance to any arrangement, so I always try to incorporate them into floral stem selections when it fits the design and style my bride is trying to achieve!
